After my own ayahuasca experiences, I have had the exact same thought, that I can't recommend it to anyone, for the same reasons you listed. I also think getting too caught up in listening to others describing their experiences can interfere with your mindset if you do respond to the calling and decide to drink. Sometimes it appears that nothing happened. Sometimes the work being done is not something you can articulate, but the inability to articulate it does not compromise the value of the experience. Aya (and other psychedelics) gives you the material, but the real work is done during integration.
