Deb, thank you for sharing! This was exactly the perspective I was hoping to get. Not having had (to my knowledge) cancer, I hesitate to comment on something about which I have no personal experience. You used the word "cured" rather than healed. Is that intentional at all? Do you see them as different at all? I didn't until I read a book that differentiated "cured" as a return to what you were previously while "healed" was more about progressive growth and an overall development of the person in some way.
