I think there are many reasons why this practice is a good one, including decreased likelihood of abuse. But, as we get closer to mainstream acceptance and adoption outside of trials, my concern becomes the additional cost this model brings with it. More people involved, each of those professionals requiring training, education and oversight, requiring more levels of support and oversight. This all just contributes to a cost that moves this type of healing further out of the reach of people who desperately need it. I understand that is also the case with existing therapy modalities, and furthermore, I have no idea what to do to fix it. If you are aware of any strategies for combating these issues, please point in their direction. Great article, Evan!
