Sorry, my comment was pretty meandering, typically what happens when I’m trying to walk my words onto the target.
I’ve studied Buddhism for more than half my life and I literally have never made the connection with mysticism before yesterday. I think part of the reason was the strong message I got from teachers that peak experiences were not to be trusted, and my personal bias was that anything mystical was a peak experience. In light of some recent “mystical” experiences of my own, its time to revisit my biases. You have given me much to think on, Graham, and have done me a great service. Even if none of it makes sense to you.
Funnily enough, I had actually read the book you are reviewing several years ago. I did enjoy it. Not sure if someone has already suggested The Quantum and the Lotus.
